The C3 generation of Corvette started in 1968 and ended fifteen years later in 1982. This generation had problems from the start. Even after being delayed a year to improve it (C3 was originally meant to debut for the 1967 production year), it was greatly criticized for its new features and was seen by many automotive magazines as more of a gimick car. This generation also suffered from the federal regulations imposed in the early seventies, and the convertable model was removed in 1976. There was no 1983 Corvette.
